I've been looking forward to this one for a long time. The official trailer for Mitti De Baway has now been released, and as soon as it went up on Green Entertainment's YouTube channel, I was certain it was going to become one of the most talked-about Pakistani dramas of the year. Since this is the first time that Wahaj Ali and Mahira Khan are appearing together on television, the project has always come with high expectations. Having just watched the nearly three-minute long trailer, I can confirm that those expectations have only increased.
Green Entertainment put up the official trailer on 25 August 2026 and it can be found on their official YouTube channel with the title “MITTI DE BAWAY | Official Trailer | Ft. Wahaj Ali - Mahira Khan | Coming Soon Only On Green TV”. The video starts with a strong statement regarding a cursed bloodline and then immediatelly draws the viewers into a narrative which has both an intimate and a grand scale.
At once the enormous scale of the programme is apparent; it is not the kind of thing you'd expect from a normal television drama. It has a film-like quality because of the way the visuals, the action scenes, the emotional intensity and the period details are handled. The official description accurately conveys the atmosphere by saying that it comes out of the soil of dreams, the fire of desire, the tenderness of love and the fury of war. Some stories are merely watched while others are lived; that phrase remained with me.
What the Trailer Shows Us
We get a good understanding of the film's emotional heart without being told too many details about the entire plot. Wahaj Ali portrays Bala (who is also called Baala in some reports), a young man whose family think that love never works out for them; it is believed that their family line is cursed when it comes to love and that the only way to protect themselves is through restraint. Mahira Khan's character, who is first described as the young Billo and is later referred to as Bilqis Bano or Bari Sarkar, falls in love with this "innocent boy" when she is nineteen. The year 1998 is mentioned in the narrative framework.
